Summer Update from Creation Resource Foundation
Hello
Friends... I hope your summer 2004 is off to a great start.
Some friends told me they didn't receive this message when I
sent it a couple weeks ago... I've added more below and hope you
receive it clearly. The answer to the above question is
suggested just a bit further on.
You
know something? Since our grandbaby Zachary came along 15
months ago, it's amazing how much life has changed. Perspectives
mainly. Being a grandpa is a great opportunity to
enjoy the delight of living. Taking time to play with a
grandson on the living room floor and go down to the pond to
feed the ducks is wonderful. The
adventure of discovery through his eyes is precious beyond
words.

 We
have had almost daily calls for over a year now... telling us how
our new all color edition of Unlocking
the Mysteries of Creation is enriching the lives of
people all over the country. Over 20,000 copies have been
sold or given away and now the Lord has just let us publish
the second edition. Wouldn't it be
great to put a copy of the book in the hands of every student in
America?
Well,
you say, that may be a little too expensive to consider a
realistic goal. O.K.... so what about the idea of a condensed
full-color booklet (32 page magazine size) that summarizes
some of the best information in the book... plus
side-columns featuring summaries of 20 or so of the most
mind-renewing resources on creation in print?
Imagine
a very attractive glossy booklet that looks like it's worth $3.95
and being able to give them away for under 50 cents a piece to
students wherever you find them. The idea is to make it so
ministries everywhere can put their own contact information in a
white box on the back cover (similar to what is done on gospel
tracts). References to articles on the internet and great
videos by various producers would fill the booklet. I've
talked over the idea with a number of creation ministries around
the country and there is great enthusiasm for the project.
As it is developed we will post the pages online for review.
People can buy them in bundles to give away. It will take
several months to research, write and design. And it will
cost about $50,000 to develop and print the first 100,000 copies.
Will
you be one of 100
friends
who
will help us generate at least $500 each to
receive
and distribute 1,000 copies of this booklet
in
your neighborhood or through the mail?
We
must print a sizeable volume to get a reasonable printing price.
And it seems to me that the Lord can
help all of us get this visually inviting booklet into thousands
of homes. The impact could be dramatic for many who
read it. In the past that was the hurdle... how do you get
people to read a creation book? Now
we've got a dynamically designed concept that compels them to read
it. It may have been hard to
do in the past (like trying to feed a giraffe in the zoo) but
there's hope for a change in the future.
Like
a Life magazine, this booklet will attract people to open
it...
And once they open it, the designs, pictures and headlines will
engage them to READ it.
And
once they read it they will be compelled to
THINK about it...
And once they do that, they will never be the same again.
They
will be innoculated with glimpses of God's Word and his world in
ways they've never seen in museums and secular T.V. shows.
They will see a pathway to find more information if they've got
the curiosity to follow it up by contacting many creation ministry
websites.
This
could be a breakthrough for ultimately millions of people that
could be of historic proportions as the Lord allows us to work
with others who can translate it and publish it in other languages
for other nations.
This
will be my primary involvement in the coming months besides the
daily responsibilities of ministry here at the CRF office... so
please pray with thanksgiving for the creative energy and financial
provisions needed for this potentially powerful outreach. I
can only imagine how the devil hates the idea of it... so please
pray for God's protection for this work.
I'll
keep you posted. In a month or so
I'll ask you for your order for your church or group. I need
at least a hundred orders for a thousand copies for $500.
So be thinking and talking to friends who can help you buy and
distribute these booklets in the coming school year. Make it a
missionary outreach of your church. Why not pray that
thousands of church youth groups will catch the vision to do the
same thing in the coming year? When you order at least a thousand
copies you can have your contact information printed on the back cover
for a small set up printing charge.
